Showing the dates can be useful in some cases.

I just removed the dates from a small article site on skin care. All the articles were published the same day

    Hi,

Yes, if that is the type of site you have I would remove the date.

I also would suggest using a plugin called Old Post Promoter so as people come back to your site the content looks fresh.

  5. We remove the dates from posts on most of our Wordpress sites.

On a few others, we use Old Post Promoter to constantly update the dates on old posts.

Refer to this simple plugin helping the people in this effort

    Date Exclusion WordPress Plugin

If you need any customization in this i can help on that.

  7. I think its probably best to remove the date from a passive blog,a blog that gets fresh content 1-2 times a year. But i also think that leaving a date on news blogs and other websites of that nature is very important, sometimes i look at portals and news sites and dont see a date and it bothers me a lot of time.

if content is time sensitive do not remove the date

if its not so time sensitive then do remove the dates.

Example if a storm is hitting some place and you wrote an article on that then date is very important otherwise if you are writing how could Iphone OS 4 can change your life as speculation then also date is must.

but if you are writing an article describing how to change a bulb that remains constant and you can remove the dates.
