Cool Only .ru spam what can i do?

I know that Akimet probably take most my spams but 99 % of my spam ends with a .ru. I guess since they visit my blog to spam i loose Adsense income correct? So is there anyway to stop .ru from posting on my blog all together? Is there any plug in that ban .ru to post?

mid way down the page you will see "Comment Blacklist"

If you add "@mail.ru" to your Comment Blacklist, any comment containing "@mail.ru" in any field will be moved to your Spam folder.

Could set Akimet to delete all spam it detects then you don't need to go through it. Other then that don't think anything is out there. However there is some on this forum willing to custom make plugins

There is one that will block anyone from registering using a @email.ru so if your blog requires registration can go that route. Odds are you will need someone to custom make something.

  7. There's also a Bad Behavior wordpress plugin to help keep spammers, scrapers and bots etc off your site -

Bad Behavior / Bad Behaviour: FAQ

I use bad behavior integrated with a few other security scripts and it works great, picks up quite a lot of stuff you don't want hitting your site. Everything that gets blocked is customisable and you have an IP whitelist to keep things unblocked if ever needed.

If you are really sick of spammers and bots you can also add the Project Honeypot HTTP:BL into Bad Behavior to check against their abuse database as well.

  8. You can also be mean and use BlockACountry to prevent all of Russia from accessing your web site.

I used to have a problem with this, but after turning Akismet on I almost never get spam anymore. The only comments that I have to moderate are those which pass Akismet, and 99% of those are fine.
