    Recommendations for Tweet Plugin

I have been using the Tweetly Updater plugin and it worked great--until Twitter recently implemented OAuth. The new version of the plugin that is supposed to handle the OAuth issues does not work.

Is anyone using a WordPress tweeting plugin that has been working since September 1?

You can use Twitter Tools. Works for me.

Thanks. I will try it. It looks like 18 people are reporting that the current version of Twitter Tools works, while 36 say it does not. That's not a good report.

This new OAuth Twitter authentication is pretty strange. There is lots of documentation, but it is pretty fragmented and not very well laid out. I think Twitter really screwed up with this one.

My plugins also stopped working and I'm still looking for a decent solution.

I'll try WordPress › Twitter Tools WordPress Plugins now!

I've been using twitterfeed for some months and that's a bit slow (can be hours for a post) and it misses some posts altogether so I've been looking for a replacement too. So far I've found and tried http://dlvr.it and it seems to work really well, works from the rss feed same as twitterfeed but it can be configured and posts to myspace, facebook and more too. It works with atproxy script and I would think anything with an rss feed, blogs included. It also makes it's own shortlinks for tweets but that's not a bad thing if they work.

Give it a try folks, it's free, and if you've got an atproxy script list then pleeeeaaase do it soon, I miss all that twitter proxy traffic and the api doesn't post anymore now

I think it's what we all need but don't take my word for it.
If I can't be a good example, I'll just have to be a terrible warning...

Twitter Tools works great and is much more sophisticated than Tweetly Updater. It has quite a few nice features, such as allowing you to post tweets from a sidebar. It can also display your latest tweets in a sidebar. There are other advanced features that I have not yet looked into because I just need something to post tweets about my articles.

The setup with Twitter Tools is more complex. It requires that you register the plugin as a app with Twitter for every site that you use it on. Tweetly Updater uses the author's account, which may be the reason as to why it is not working.

I found the exercise of registering the app to be interesting because it helped me to understand Twitter's new convoluted process much better.

If you are looking for a tweet plugin that works, it looks like Twitter Tools is it.

I didn't have a chance to try your recommendation, UncleP. It may also work, but I found my solution.
