Thread: RSS Feed Vanished from WordPress

My RSS feed has disappeared from WordPress. It's always been there, but now going to blog.mydomain.com/feed gives a 404 error. You'll even notice an error in my 'Recent Blog' feature in this post. Has anyone come across this issue before and know how to solve it?

I'm using ver. 2.9.2

UPDATE: I fixed it be enabling comments. For some reason disabling them broke WP and my permalinks. Now I just need to figure out how to disable comments without breaking WP

It could be a bug? Perhaps it will be fixed in 2.9.3

I got it working again. The culprit was a poorly coded theme.

There is a function that can be added to functions.php to disable the RSS feed. Was that the problem?

No, the feed was not disabled. It was this odd thing where the feed worked, but once I disabled comments the feed stopped working. I changed themes to one that is nicer looking and better coded. The feed works and the comments are disabled without a problem.

Strange. The RSS feed operates in the core code, so something in the theme must have been disabling it.
