What do you think of Premium Themes?

Hey!

We all know if premium Word Press themes.

What do you think about Premium themes?

A good option for a short budget guy, or something that is hyped a lot more good than it actually is?

Personally, I think the concept rocks, as they are coded very very well and are better than free themes, and are not too common.

Your take?

The concept is pretty damn good, and the market has approved it, so you have to say it's successful as well.

The membership tweak with it that the Woothemes people have done is another amazing business idea.

Premium themes are very good option, and spending a few more bucks on them you can get 'em customized which gives a more unique feel. All for less than $200 is a pretty good deal!

If you are not more budget conscious then I would recommend custom themes. But I see only more of premium themes around the blogosphere. Anyway it depends on the budget according to me.

Yes I agree it is all about the budget.

But I feel promotion and content is wayyy more important that design....although design does play a factor....but the others are more essential.

It's all about gettin' eyeballs first.

You get 'em, they stick because of various factors. Your content, design are some of those..

Agreed.

So for that purpose even a premium tweaked theme will do.

Premium themes are, in my opinion, slightly over rated. Don't get me wrong, there are some amazing themes out there, but I guarantee I could find someone to make me a premium theme unique to me for the same price that these guys ask.

Still, there are some cool premium themes out there that I'm saving up for

My opinion is Premium Themes WERE good.. because now they are easily available for download on piracy websites, specially Woothemes. Others are still hidden. Adding some more $$$ to the Premium Theme amount can get you a customized one though..

Yeah, I suppose that's a big problem nowadays.

Another problem I have with premium themes is that all the good ones have been bought/downloaded/used so many times now that they don't feel very premium anymore unless they're undergone extensive customisation

I ended up buying the Thesis Premium theme and absolutlely love it. There are a ton of options within wordpress to customize the theme and make it do whatever you want
