The theme editor is kind of irritating. I like the syntax highlighting, but copying and pasting is now a major irritation.

Not jazzed on how you pick themes. There directory used to be great, but ever since 2.6 it's been hard to browse. Even going to WP's site makes it a pain to find the themes you like. They rely to heavily on their search.

Is there a risk for plugins compatibility?

I just upgraded one site that had about 15 plugins. All works still.

I think Corey was referring to actually editing themes rather than picking them. That said, personally I've never actually used the WP Theme Directory, but I just Google for different wordpress related theme keywords and usually find some great stuff.

Only advatanges is the new codepress editor which gives syntax highlighting to the previously-plain editor and a few others.

You may view all the new features, upgrades, changes for the new 2.8 version HERE.

Previous version Interface was just fine the way it was.
If I am not wrong you can switch back automatically right?
And thanks for the link, its what I needed to see.
