For version 3.0.4, the database version (db_version in wp_options) remained at 15477.

The version number doesn't reflect accurately the critical nature of this upgrade I think. Surely it should be version 3.1.3? Maybe another update would fix this minor issue?
I just did several updates to 3.0.3, as well. Doh!
Also, a 3.1 beta was just released, which means that another update is coming soon.

I like the fact that the WordPress team does a good job of keeping up with security updates, but the continual stream of interim updates is annoying. I also find that their automated update system does not work most of the time and thus I have to manually update the sites. The WP team does need to get their act together and consolidate their updates.
