I have just installed it too , but how do i apply it so that the translation flags are underneath my post instead of a widget on my index page?

Click Settings, the click Global Translator Pro.

Scroll down below the flags. Check "Enclose the flags inside a DIV (for CSS customization)".

Then, you just edit your template to put that DIV underneath your post.

Unfortunately, the name of that DIV is undocumented. You can most likely find it by viewing the source code of a rendered page after making the change I documented above.

That depends entirely upon the design of your Wordpress template and where you want the flags to appear.

    Translation Plug-in for Wordpress

So, in the balance of load time versus usability, does anyone on here who does not speak English natively actually use the translation plug-ins on sites or do you just load in Google or Babbelfish when you come across a language you can't read?

Since my niche of my writing blog really either gets US/Canada/UK viewers who can speak English or other country viewers who are technically literate I'm thinking I don't need the translation plugin installed, but wanted to see what you guys thought?

    Cheers,
    James

The beauty of a good translation tool is that the translated pages get indexed and start ranking for search terms -- they bring new visitors to your site.

Gotcha. So really if the speed is good then leave the tool in place since it does cache the translated pages! Do you find it necessary to go click on each flag then to get the translated version generated to start with?

Is this plugin really helpful from SEO point of view Don't think so that it translate word to word properly.

    Appreciate responses from experienced users.

    DON.
