Thread: Wordpress Pingbacks

Hi all,

I have promoted my new website www.hauntedplacesinengland.com. Now I have many Pingbacks in the comment queue, but I am not sure what to do with them. Shall I approve them, delete 'em or have Akismet run?

pingback suggest that your link is placed in different websites which are trying to tell you that your link is place in me.

so pingback for me is approval most of the time until this has 1 thing.the site from which pingback is coming is not a porno or link garbage collector.

I del the pingbacks. My thought is this if the competition checks out my site there is no reason to give them all my backlinks that easy

well i suppose giving backlink here will mean you are giving a do follow link, which i seriously avoid and think others should also if you want to run a good blog.

Thanks everybody for their opinion. The links in the comment section are automatically no-follow.

Anyway, I think I will delete the pingback comments for they seem robotic without adding any value.

and meanwhile as i already said do keep an eye from where you get the pingback. as in your case robotic pingback definetely needs to go.

That's what I do.

i run askimet so once they're not filtered by it, i approved their pingbacks.
