I think jadedcoder sticky permalinks is a must have WordPress › jadedcoder Sticky Permalinks WordPress Plugins
    description
Every time you modify a post slug, add a new post, rename a category, or otherwise modify any of your post and page permalinks, jadedcoder Sticky Permalinks (jcsp) will keep a copy of the original permalink along with the post or page it originally led to. If anyone tries to access the old URL, they will be redirected right to the new one, no matter how many times you've changed it.

That's half of the fun You have to decide which you like best...
Course, what is it, the more plug-ins you run, the slower your load time even when using caching....so something to keep in mind.

I looked at this - but I didn't know if it would benefit my make money online blog.

Isn't a plugin like OPP confusing for visitors and search engines?

Search engines should be fine with it. Visitors may be confused, depending upon the structure of your site. My political blog, for example, can't use OPP. People would be very confused if two year old news popped up on the front page. But for my how to sites, OPP is quite nice.
